SIA & Cricket:

SIA members have been playing cricket for various clubs for over 10 years. After SIA was formed in 2007 we formally made the SIA cricket team in 2009 with some funds from SIA to buy the kit helping kick start it all. The first match was played with Drs from GWH at Swindon Cricket ground that the Drs won by a narrow margin. A rematch of the same played at Lydiard was won by SIA. Both the teams had a mix of all age groups including participation from SIA youths. The interest from this match carried on to 2010 when we had another match at Ballards Ash that the Drs won in a thrilling encounter.
As members of both Drs team and SIA team were all keen on playing more cricket we put a joint team in Monahans mid week Division 4 league in 2011. Wanborough Cricket ground as our home ground. monahansmidweekcricketleague/league-tables/2011-season/division-4

In 2011 we had some tough matches with much younger opposition and stayed in div 4. In 2012 we have renamed the team as Hippocrickes. With fewer matches being played due to rain, the season had a better success rate as we won 6 out of 10 matches we played. We beat teams from Nationwide, SBC Capita, KC Globe. We conceded some points due to lack of numbers.

Apart from the league we also played friendly match against Infosys that we won in 2012. We will continue to play in 2013 and Nets will be organised from April onwards at Purton. As it is always a challenge to get the 11 , we welcome all to come and participate. Mid Week league matches are played 6pm to 8:30pm on Tuesday beginning in May and continue until beginning of August.
